Here we go!

Tip toeing into blogging with my first post.

The Title of my Blog is Four Mums, Two Dads, this is how my son describes his family, even to strangers in a queue at Asda or to new friends, their response is predicted.  So within a few seconds my son has outed me and decribed our creatively shaped family.

Ok so the standard response from my son to the question 'how come you've got four mums and two dads?' is; I have a tummy Mummy cos Im adopted, I have a tummy Daddy.  I have My adoptive Mums, then they split up and now Mummy R has a new wife and she's my fourth Mum and then My Mummy A has a boyfriend and he's my second Dad!

Phew!

Modern families, well our family can definately be described as modern.

Backing up 4 years.

Myself and my ex-partner went into adoption to create a forever family together.  We never anticipated that that forever family might not live in the same house, but life takes turns that you can never foresee.

4 years later and this modern family are bobbing along ok.  We have our moments, but generally it's working.

My son loves the that fact that he went from living with a Tummy Mummy and a brother to having a huge forever family. He tells everyone and it's always interesting to see the factial expressions of whoever he's telling.

Since adopting I have maintained close links with the authority we adopted with and now reguarly support new adopters and attend the training course to share our experiences of adoption.  When I talk to other adopters or prospective adopters they always say how helpful sharing our experiences can be for others.  So I thought I should start a blog and share this information further.

So post one has gone ok so far and has hopefully given you some idea of why Im blogging and a brief of my family make up.
